How to Properly Compare Robot Vacuums
Choosing the right robot vacuum can be challenging given the number of models available on the market. Our comparison tool helps you make an informed decision by comparing key specifications, features, and ratings side by side.
What to Focus on When Comparing
1. Suction Power (Pa)
Suction power measured in pascals (Pa) determines the vacuum's ability to pick up debris. For hard floors, 2000-3000 Pa is sufficient. For carpets and pet households, we recommend at least 5000 Pa. Premium models like the Dreame X40 Ultra offer up to 12000 Pa for deep cleaning.
2. Navigation Technology
LiDAR navigation offers the most accurate mapping and efficient row-by-row cleaning. Camera navigation with AI (like ReactiveAI on Roborock) adds obstacle recognition. Gyroscopic navigation is cheaper but less precise. For large homes, we strongly recommend LiDAR.
3. Mopping Features
If you have hard floors, mopping matters. Rotating mops (Roborock, Dreame) provide better results than vibrating ones. Automatic mop lifting when detecting carpet is essential for mixed floors. Stations with automatic mop washing save maintenance time.
4. Self-Maintenance Station
Modern stations offer automatic dust emptying, mop washing and drying, and water refilling. Consider the station size - some are quite large. Dust bag capacity of 30+ days minimizes maintenance.
5. Battery Life
For small apartments (up to 850 sq ft), 90 minutes of runtime is enough. For larger homes, look for 150+ minutes. Auto-recharge and resume features ensure cleaning completion even in large spaces.
